We Think It's as Important to Fire Better as Hire Better

I’m so glad to see that Inc. Magazine and Harvard agree with our belief at HireBetter that retaining or even tolerating a bad, toxic or ineffective employee is bad for business. In another Inc. article linked to a Harvard study, they even go so far as to suggesting that firing a bad employee can save you more money than hiring a superstar employee.

See? More research backing up our belief that most middle market companies don’t deal with problem employees very well. And, while it’s not always the first option, terminating such employees is often the right answer in the long run. Maybe there is some credence to our April 1st spoof? I don’t think we’ll rename our company FireBetter after all – but maybe there is another product line in our future!
